Joan Mazza

Joan Mazza is a licensed psychotherapist, certified sex therapist, writing coach, national seminar leader, and the author of six books.

In demand as a speaker, Joan Mazza brings seminars to both professionals and the general public. The content of seminars speaks to the concerns and frustrations of people in "mid-life" crises regardless of age. With humor and personal anecdotes, she invites people to be themselves, take risks, and take charge of their lives in ways they never have before. She has a following of students who regularly take her classes and appear when she speaks at bookstores.

She also leads seminars nationally for mental health care providers sponsored by The Family Advocate and has been a presenter along with Cloé Madanes and John Bradshaw. In November, 1997, she conducted three one-day dream seminars in Tucson, Albuquerque, and Phoenix to mental health professional audiences who raved about her abilities to connect, offer helpful information, and assist those who already make helping their profession.

Mazza teaches classes for continuing education credits to licensed health care professionals (nurses, social workers, and other hospital employees) at Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale. Her practical, clear language appeals to audiences wherever she speaks. Mazza's success with clients and groups has been the subject of feature articles in The Miami Herald, The Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, and XS Magazine. She is a frequent speaker for a variety of groups and organizations. Her warmth and relaxed, personable style cause people to return to hear her again and again.

Joan Mazza is a past-president of The Book Group of South Florida, an organization of authors and book industry professionals. Her short stories, articles, poetry, and essays have appeared in publications such as, Oak Square, Atlanta Singles Magazine, StarSong, Recovery Today, Eidos, Thanatos, Changes Magazine, and Loving More Magazine.
